Man is independent, dependent and also interdependent. These three aspects are very much true in the life of a person, but some people may not accept this. But the reality is that no one can live without the help of others. In certain cases we may be independent, but in some cases we are dependent. In most of the cases, we are interdependent as we need mutual help. This give and take policy is the lifeline of human existence.
No one can become successful without the help of others. Higher levels can be achieved only by climbing various steps. In this journey, if someone is giving a helping hand, the climbing will be very easy. This is a very natural law and we have experienced it many times in our life. If we look back to our life, there will be many people- parents, friends, teachers,etc. who have made a significant role in shaping our life. Motivations received from speeches, sermons, training programs and books can also be considered in this category.
If someone has achieved something in his life, it is only because of the encouragement of someone else. A word of encouragement can change someone's life. We need encouragement at the time of discouragement. When we come across situations of failures, fear, anxiety, loses, financial crisis, lack of faith etc., a helping hand - a word of encouragement- a token of love can do miracles in our life. We will be revived and filled with a new energy and enthusiasm which will drive us ahead towards the goal.
When we expect encouragement from others, we are supposed to encourage others. This cannot be a one-way traffic. We should learn to encourage others and build them up. This is a glorious act and will be remembered for ever and rewarded at the right time.
Especially in spiritual life, this mutual encouragement is very essential. No one is filled fully with the faith. We all lack something, some where. Mutual encouragement will compensate this shortage and will help us to lead a meaningful, spirit filled, victorious life.
Make sure that we never discourage a person by our words or deeds, as this can spoil the life of the other person and it will remain as a dark spot in our entire life.
Bible says, " Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Live in peace with each other, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak and be patient with everyone"- (1 Thessalonians 5:11,13,14).
